Josep Anton Bolet is a seventh-generation Penèdes farmer, with 70 hectares of vines across three farms. He started bottling Cava in 1982, with 2000 bottles. The family had been farming vines for a long time but until then sold everything in bulk as base wines. From this small beginning, every year they started doing a bit more, and now they make 13 different wines and Cavas. In 2003 they began farming organically and by 2011 all their vineyards were certified.

In 2011 they made their first still wine with no added sulfites, and two years ago they made their first Cava wine no added sulfites.

They’ve planted the recovered varieties Moneu and Forcada and have just done the first harvest. All together they grow 16 varieties, 10 of which are red. They don’t use all their grapes and still sell some, and their production is 70-90 000 bottles a year.

Josep has been working here since he was 18, and now has two sons working here, Jordi and Javier. One prefers the vineyards, the other the cellar and sales.

The old house here dates to 1619 (on the right in the top picture), but they also have a modernist house was built next to it in 1911 (on the left), and is now used as a hotel with 5 rooms.
