Highlights: Jean-François Ganevat Plein Sud Trousseau 2018 Côtes du Jura
Had this at Noble Rot Soho. It’s a Trousseau from the Jura, made without any added sulfites. Infusion-style winemaking with very low extraction has resulted in an extremely fine, elegant and nuanced expression of this variety, which is becoming one of my favourites. From vineyards planted in 1947 and 2000 on grey marl and pebbles.
Jean-François Ganevat Plein Sud Trousseau 2018 Côtes du Jura, France
Beautifully aromatic with floral red cherries and spice – there are some green hints too. The palate is richly textured with some meaty richness, a sanguine quality and a lovely fine acid line. There’s incredible purity and definition, combining richness and freshness in a beautiful harmony. 96/100
