12% alcohol. This is so impressive: it’s 100% Chardonnay, 11% of base wine barrel fermented, seven years on lees, disgorged March 2023. Aroma of fine toast, pastry, lime and oyster shells, with real precision and purpose. The palate has lovely acidity beautifully integrated into the complex citrus fruit, white peach and sweet apple flavours, with a touch of chalkiness and some creamy richness, with a bready twist, but the focus remaining on the pristine fruit. Very fine with the potential for further development in bottle. 94/100
