Next stop was a farm in the heart of Bjäre Wine Country, on a southern slope between Förslöv and Vejbystrand. The farm itself is 100 hectares, but there are just 1.5 hectares of vines here. Annika and Joakim Palm took over the family farm and started their wine venture by planting 3 rows near a barn in 2019, as the rest of the farm was leased out.

Ljungbyholms Vingård really started growing when they took some of the leased land back and planted more vines. There were 36 rows planted in 2020, and now there are 12 varieties and 5000 vines. The soils are quite fertile sands and clays.

Solaris and Rondo are the biggest players, and the farm is one-third red grapes. With time they plan to focus on those varieties that do best. ‘Everything we do we want to have an elegant touch to,’ says Joakim.
