Jesper Friberg is a freelance winemaker with wide experience internationally. He worked for a year in Felton Road, and spent three years in France including vintage at Lapierre in Morgon and then with Eric Pfifferling at L’Anglore in Tavel. Now he’s making wine on the east coast of Skåne, and has half a hectare of his own vines, which he planted with 8 varieties in 2009. He wants to work naturally and sustainably. He doesn’t spray anything except for microorganisms and herbal teas. These wines are very exciting. When he’s not making wine, Jesper is working with thatched rooves.

Jesper Friberg Flälltopp 2020 Sweden
14% alcohol. This is made from grapes of Klagshamn in Malmo. 100% Solaris, wild ferment then 18 months on lees, 10 mg/l sulfites added at blending. 30% in used oak. Lively and powerful with pear and white peach fruit, showing nice energy and complexity, with some acid lift. The acid line is warm, sweet and complex. 91/100

Jesper Friberg Symbios 2021 Sweden
Made with Klagshamn fruit also. Solaris, no oak, and 15% botrytised fruit. Complex nose of bold pear, peach and apricot. Complex palate is bright with citrus and some subtle mint and spice notes. Nice energy and complexity here. 91/100

Jesper Friberg Skoksbryn 2023 (tank sample)
Cabernet Cortis, Rondo and Solaris. The red grapes had 10 d carbonic before pressing, while Solaris was direct pressed. Wonderful bright nose is reductive in a nice way. Bright raspberry and cherry fruit with lovely spicy detail. Raspberry and cherry fruit with a bit of silkiness. So expressive. 94/100

80% Rondo, carbonic maceration, 20% Solaris. Bright and vibrant with nice bold blackcurrant and cherry fruit with good purity. Supple and bright with good weight. Fresh and balanced. 93/100
